Austrian Alps
Gravel, MTB, Hiking, Trail Running, Wild Swimming, Yoga, Meditation & Recovery
May 31 – June 7, 2025
Join an awesome crew for a week of adventures in the Austrian Alps. We’ll be a mix of cyclists who mostly want to explore the trails by wheel, hikers and runners who love to be on foot, and omnivores who want to do it all.
Our three chalets in Bichlbach offer comfy indoor and outdoor areas to relax, private saunas, fireplaces for cool alpine nights and plush 180cm-width mattresses. Trails begin from the edge of town that lead to valley roams and alpine climbs.
Enjoy valley floor rides with champagne gravel or head into the mountains for epic views. We’ll offer lighter as well as more challenging routes each day with trails that vary from gravel to hardtail surfaces. Know that you can bring a gravel or a mtb and explore a huge variety of routes. This trip is also for those that don’t want to cycle at all!
Enjoy a mix of milder hikes that circumscribe alpine lakes and challenging climbs up into the surrounding mountains. Some hikes will begin from the chalets while other will take advantage of the excellent rail and bus options with short 10-20 km commutes to the surrounding valleys. Hop in with Becky for some wild swimming along the hikes!
We care about combining good food with awesome people. We start with a intake survey and check in with guests each afternoon before the daily market shopping & planning. We’ll enjoy breakfasts optimized for adventure, alpine lunches at traditional mountain-top restaurants, afternoons back at the chalets with recovery appetizers, and four-course dinners with fresh salads and plenty of protein to refuel for the next day’s outing.
A typical 24 hours
6:00-8:00 Get charged with what works for you. An early rise. Oats & fruit. 3 cups of coffee. A friendly chat. Or quiet solitude by the pond.
9:00 Head out with your group for the days adventure. Chat easy with a new friend. Put in an effort on a big climb. Stop for photos when it’s too epic not to.
12:00 Mountain lunches are a speciality of the area. Slow down and enjoy where you are with excellent food & drink.
13:00 Enjoy the energy stores you have left. Push for extra endorphins. Head back to the chalets.
16:00 You’re back from the day’s activity. Get clean. Enjoy the sauna and a recovery yoga and stretching class outside with Alison.
17:00 Nosh at Chalet 1 with NA drinks, wine & freshly prepared apps. Get lazy and enjoy new friends. You put in an effort today!
19:00 Enjoy a 4-course dinner at Chalet 2 and unwind. Start to review tomorrow’s ride & hike options. Where do you want to go? How challenging or easy do you want your outing to be tomorrow? Who might you enjoy hanging out with?
21:00 Hang around the fireplace with the night owls at Chalet 3. Or turn in early. You’re tired!
22:00 Rest in a plush bed.
Add a visit to Munich, the heart of Bavaria, which blends traditional charm with vibrant modern life. Visitors can explore Marienplatz with its stunning Gothic architecture and the iconic Glockenspiel, or dive into world-class art at the Pinakothek museums. Nature lovers enjoy the vast English Garden, perfect for picnics and even river surfing. Munich’s food and drink scene, especially its famous beer gardens and historic Hofbräuhaus, captures Bavarian warmth and flavor. Guides
Amelie Koch has traveled around the world with her bike including Oman, Taiwan and Vietnam, and all across Europe. Lately she’s been road racing in Abu Dhabi! Her not-so-secret passion is organizing and planning cycling trips.
Hugh Rodman has been cycling throughout his life, although it took decades to realize that it was way more fun to do with other people. One of the few things he's won in this short life was a cooking competition.
Becky Margulies decided that running 50 miles was too short so this year she’s going for her first 100. Her meditation practice has evolved over several decades at centers across California and India. She loves hiking, embroidery, introducing others to the joys of wild swimming, saunas and her two cats!
Alison Millar goes downhill just so she can enjoy climbing again. She helps people of all ages with their fitness, strength, flexibility and greater understanding of their astrological destiny!
